July 2011 - Identities (Hathersage)

This time we moved to our new location in Hathersage in the Peak District, a lovely little village with a local train station making it easier for people to make their own way to the venue. It was also much more accessible in other ways too. At this retreat, we offered our usual anonymous Q&A session Saturday afternoon and then meditation on the Sunday morning. Moving to the new place meant that we could leave a bit later on the Sunday and have time to offer more. Our main discussion was around identity - what this meant to us, whether it was something we embraced or felt was put upon us by other, whether it felt positive or negative, or a mix of both and to share what masculinity meant to each of us and whether it was a part of our identity or not. The new space was brilliant, although slightly chilly!
