Gender Outside the Binary

10th - 12th August 2018
trans & non binary only
Hathersage, Derbyshire

The Gender Outside the Binary retreat will explore the vast galaxy of gender that exists beyond the female-male binary that dominates in most of the world.

Non-binary (NB or nb) has emerged in recent years as a really practical way for people to describe their gender outside of female and male, and much like the word trans it connects to a vast array of expressions and experiences of gender, including but not limited to gender fluid, agender, bigender, genderqueer, two spirit, and many more. But that can become a binary in itself – are you binary or non-binary?! What about the spaces between? And how do we navigate all this in a world that demands one of two answers?

Strap your jetpack on and get ready to leave assumptions behind – we are gendernauts leaving Planet Binary in five, four, three, two, one…

Like all TBA retreats, this weekend will be rooted in the TBA principles of body positivity, sex and intimacy, and emotional wellbeing. It is open to anyone who self-identifies In any way as trans or non binary.

This retreat is not open to cis gender (not trans or non-binary) people, but if you require a personal assistant to come with you and they are cis gender, please talk to us. We want to do everything we can to make this accessible.

We positively welcome trans people of colour (TPoC) to our events.
